Our Farmers

Our farmers and ethical partners

We work directly with small, local BC farms who raise animals humanely, care for the land, and share our commitment to quality, sustainability, and transparency.

Black Yak Cattle

Jamie and his family run Black Yak Cattle Farms and pride themselves on caring for their animals and caring for the land. More efficient at absorbing nutrients than traditional beef breeds, Yak are the ideal livestock animal to raise solely on grass and forages. Their Tibetan Yaks are herd raised and free range on pasture to ensure their health in mind and body. Sustainable farming practices and a holistic approach to animal husbandry allows their stock to lead as natural a life as possible, free from GMO grains, antibiotics, growth hormones, inoculations and stress. From their pasture to your plate is a process that takes up to three years and results in quality you can taste in every bite.

It's majestic, open grasslands benches along the Fraser River and the hot dry climate is the perfect place to raise Hormone-Free, Open Range, Premium Quality Beef. From local farms to our butcher block
Our partnerships with local BC farms allow us to source responsibly raised animals and practice whole-animal butchery right here in Kelowna. By working directly with farmers, we ensure transparency, reduce waste, and deliver the highest quality meat to our community.

Every cut in our shop reflects the care taken on the farm, the land it was raised on, and our commitment to doing things the right way.
